Our Story

We are Ana and Don.

Don arrived in the United States in 2003, and Ana followed in 2005 after we were married. What we once imagined as a brief chapter abroad slowly became the foundation of our lives. Plans to return to Korea gave way to new beginnings—a home, deep roots in California, and the start of our family business, Redwood Cleaners.

We are the grateful parents of two sons, both born and raised under the California sun. Our older son is studying at the University of California, Irvine, and our younger son is preparing to begin his next chapter at Case Western Reserve University. Watching them grow into thoughtful, independent young men has been the quiet joy of our lives.

Having completed our own education in Korea, we hold a special appreciation for the childhood our sons experienced here—one filled with open space, school spirit, and a strong sense of family. Seeing them flourish in an environment so different from the one we knew has been a gift we never take for granted.

There is nothing extraordinary about our story. We are simply a middle-aged couple sharing the rhythms of everyday life in America—the small victories, the lessons learned, and the beauty found in ordinary days. Walking this path together, we also want to share our unique perspectives and practical know-how.

Through this blog, we hope to reflect with honesty, celebrate life’s simple moments, and connect with others walking a similar path. In doing so, we look forward to sharing my wife’s ‘pro-like amateur’ tips for styling clothes—born from her deep passion for fashion—along with the professional laundry insights I’ve gained through years of operating Redwood Cleaners.

At Redwood Cleaners, I take pride in providing cleaning that goes beyond just making clothes look clean, with a strong focus on my customers’ health and the environment. As a member of Wet Cleaners USA, I am committed to professional, eco-friendly care that you can trust.
