Modern & Cozy Vibes: ‘Sohji’

🌬️ San Francisco’s Chilly Breeze & Dressing Up

San Francisco’s signature coastal breeze means it stays cool all year round. That’s why layering and practicality are always top of mind when putting together an outfit here.

Tonight was a special occasion—my friend’s birthday! We all decided to dress up for the reservation, so I put together an OOTD that balanced effortless elegance, warmth, and comfort.

  • Bottom: Trina Turk Wide-Leg PantsThe flowy silhouette instantly elevated the dressed-up vibe.
  • Top: Sleeveless BlouseFeatures pleated detailing on the back section, offering a flattering and comfortable drape.
  • Jacket: Bernard Zins Style JacketA classic, structured outerwear piece to keep the SF chill at bay.
  • Bag: Anthropologie Statement BagAdded a subtle pop of color to brighten up the overall tailored look.

🍣 Modern & Cozy Vibes: ‘Sohji’

Our dinner destination was Sohji, a Japanese restaurant located right here in San Francisco.

The interior is intimate and cozy, featuring a stylish, modern design. They also have a lovely outdoor patio space, which would be perfect for enjoying a vibrant evening setting when the weather permits.

🥢 Signature Dishes at Sohji

Once seated, our highly anticipated dishes began to arrive.

1. Sea Urchin Rice Bowl (Uni Don)

As one of their main star dishes, the sea urchin was unbelievably fresh. Rich, creamy, and melting on the tongue, it’s an absolute must-order for any seafood lover.

2. The Signature Fondue Burger

A fondue burger at a Japanese restaurant might sound unexpected, but it is truly a signature creation here. The decadent cheese flavor paired with the juicy patty makes for a uniquely addictive bite.

3. Refreshing Green Tea Beer

The eye-catching green-hued matcha/green tea beer was one of the most memorable highlights of the night. The subtle tea aroma combined with crisp carbonation cleansed the palate perfectly between dishes.

🥂 Final Thoughts

The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the entire meal.

Dressing up with dear friends, catching up over incredible food, and enjoying that special San Francisco nighttime atmosphere made it an unforgettable birthday celebration. If you’re looking for a modern, memorable Japanese dining experience in SF, I highly recommend checking out Sohji!
